Pastor and Wife Convicted for Operating Investment Scam
A Virginia pastor and his wife were convicted on nearly 40 counts of fraud for operating an investment scam that conned their congregation out of millions of dollars.
The Millenders lost $2 million of investor funds through investing in highly risky FOREX trading.
Pastor Terry Millender and his wife Brenda scammed members of the Victorious Life Church out of millions by promising to invest their monies in safe micro-loan investments and Nigerian oil investments. The Millenders promised investors they would receive a full return of their principal with profit, while also fueling growth in developing countries.
Instead of the promised noble purposes, the Millenders used investors funds to speculate in highly risky FOREX, or currency, trading. In total, the Millenders lost $2 million of investor funds through their scheme.
