The Business Trial Group has filed a lawsuit in Florida against an in-home elder care agency Granny Nannies for giving a caregiver with a relevant criminal history access to its 92-year-old customer’s home. The caregiver, Curtel Hayes, allegedly stole nearly $140,000 from a 92-year-old client, and has since been arrested for grand theft and elder exploitation.

A Florida couple who suffered an assault and battery while passengers on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship are suing their former law firm for squandering their chance at justice and compensation by failing to file their lawsuit on time.

Mitchell and Dannamarie Miorelli hired the Business Trial Group’s Damien H. Prosser to seek compensation and damages on their behalf, filing a lawsuit for legal malpractice against their previously retained firm, Halscott Megaro, P.A.

BTG Files Lawsuit Against Baker McKenzie Regarding Unpaid Commission to Recruiter

The Business Trial Group has filed a lawsuit in Orlando, Florida state court on behalf of legal recruiting firm Wilcox and Hackett against Baker Mckenzie, one of the largest law firms in the world.

Wilcox and Hackett — who is being represented by the Business Trial Group’s Aaron C. Garnett — alleges that Baker McKenzie failed to pay compensation for recruitment services that led to the hiring of two new partners in the firm’s Miami office.

The Business Trial Group has filed a legal malpractice lawsuit on behalf of a woman who claims her previously retained counsel failed to file the client’s cruise ship injury lawsuit on time.

Our client suffered serious injuries during a vacation on a cruise ship with Royal Caribbean Cruise, Ltd. She hired a New York-based law firm to prosecute her personal injury case against Royal Caribbean, but the firm missed the one year filing deadline imposed by the cruise line. As a result, the passenger’s claims against the cruise line were barred forever.

Condo Owner Sues Association Over Unrepaired Roof Damages

The Business Trial Group’s Roger C. Brown recently filed a lawsuit that encapsulates what can go wrong when a condo association breaches its obligation to perform exterior repairs and maintenance. According to the lawsuit, the association’s failure to repair roof damage caused a flood into the tenant’s unit. The tenant was forced to pay for repairs out of pocket and relocate his family to another residence.

BTG Represents Consulting Group in Unpaid Commission Case

The Business Trial Group has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a consulting group that was allegedly not paid consulting fees in connection with several commercial real estate projects.

Business Trial Group attorney Aaron C. Garnett represents the consultant against an investment company that agreed to pay consulting fees for a number of services that were properly performed, but had not been paid. The parties are bound by a consulting agreement and, therefore, the unpaid commissions are a breach of that contract, the lawsuit claims.
